no power and tranny issue????
ok guys. my truck used to have all the power in the world to pull my 45' fully enclosed trailer and wieghts of truck/trailer/load of 30,000 lbs like nothing through the mountains and steepest grades. and well now it won't barely pull a 18' car trailer with 1 car to pass a car on a level straight.
this happened the same time the tranny acted up. here is what the trans is doing:
i have the OD off while increasing speed and then when turning it on around 50mph the engine will freespool up in rpms like the trans is in nuetral. might have to let off the pedal some to get it to engage and go or it will keep going in n out of nuetral it seems. it does this all the time when loaded and sometimes when not loaded.
now if i don't turn the OD off it seems like OD and the TC lock up to early and i loose all power.
now when i dont have a load and empty i have all my original power.
any suggestions?

i would like to add that when i slow to speeds of 45 and hit the gas pedal, the od/tc seem to still be engaged and absolutely no power.
when at speeds of 45 if i punch it the od/tc should unlock and the rpm's increase and so should power like i used too, but theres nothing.

i took it to dave and he said the trans was fine but he thought something was up with the tps.
egt is fine
boost underload is low
trans temp is fine but when it gets up to 170 the trans acts up worse.
im at a loss.
i can't even floor it now n get the boost n power i used to have.

now its gotten worse today. i am pulling nothing but an empty 18' open car trailer n the trans temp is at 180 and the trans slipping between 3rd and od is worse. when it shifts from drive to od the trans will act like its in nuetral and so the engine will rev up and it might do this a couple times before it engages. i got feather the gas to get it to engage.
someone must have had this issue before?
anyone?

Your symptoms don't sound like any TPS problem I've ever encountered.
Can't tell you what it is but think it's a non-electrical internal tranny problem.
Unfortunately the expensive kind.
Hope I'm proven wrong...

it was a new tps and when i've checked it, it says fine. and my scan tool while i drive and the tranny acts up the tps monitor doesnt jump around.
the tranny is a georand brothers fully built trans and all that with billet shafts and billet triple disc TC.
so hopefully its not them. but dave told me when i was in about that everything looked ok.
i guess i will be heading down there tomm.
