No limited slip
I decided to change the front and rear gear oil this afternoon and found that my new to me 95 has a single trac in the rear
I can't believe a 4WD truck would come with a single trac. I guess I now have a 2WD instead of a 3WD. I will now take the LSD additive back to dealer for a refund

I have a limited slip in my dana 70 that i will be able to sell probably, as my rear end went out(ring/pinion/bearings), but the carrier is all good with the limited slip. Not sure yet if i want to sell it or not, but if either of you are interested, shoot me a PM. Will only fit a dana 70 though i think. I am putting a limited slip dana 80 back in it hopefully. Single trac's suck big time. Thats why i refuse to buy a single trac to put back in my truck. The limited slip worked awesome!

Im assuming a good limited slip cause if i stomp on it i lay down both tire marks really pretty. Ive never been in too precarious an offroad situation yet where i find out, oh wait yes i have.. when i got stuck, and both tires still spun. By far most trucks are open diffs. LSD was an option.

When I ordered my 1997 from the factory, LSD was not available with the 3:54 gears. A couple of years ago, I managed to find a used LSD carrier and swapped it in. Some of the best money I’ve spent on the truck.

I'd really like to find a gear-driven LSD for the 80 with 3.54's though...
IMO, there isn't a gear driven LS (like the Tru Trac) that will out perform the Powr-Lok.......IMO, the Powr-Lok is hands-down the best LS you can buy and since there is no gear driven LS offered by any manufacturer for the D80 that I'm aware of, it isn't really even a consideration.
Just not a big fan of clutches on something that sees alot of miles, and is a street queen, but anything beats the 1-wheel wonder action!
So I'd wind up doing the D70 Powr-lok and drilling out the holes for the D80 ring gear bolts?
