no 4x4 and hvac stuck on defrost only

My 99 is not shifting into 4wheel drive and all it will do is blow air throughthe defroster, my assumption is a vacuum pump is pooched? please advise if i have any clue what im talking about or not

Check all your vacuum lines carefully.Some of those lines are very small and hard to see a break or crack in them. Not very often the vacuum pump goes...

yes find the vaccume malfunction.

CAD actuation and blend door are direct functions of vaccume

ok, I'll see what i can find for rubbed cracked lines tomorrow and report back if i need further input, thanks guys

there is a vacuum line on the firewall, near the center, up high under the trim that I've knocked off and gave me similar symptoms.

as dumb as it sounds the line coming out from the pump either fell off or it was never hooked back up after the injector pump got replaced (why they would have taken it off is beyond me) haha
