newbey with a couple ?,s

I bought a 97 2500 about a month ago, sofar everything has ran out great, i put in a boost and post turbo pyro, 2nd stage fuel plate, (dont know the number), k&n intake and had the cat and muffler whacked off. it has pretty good power and even towing i havent got the egt over 700. But i think i am makin too much boost, wot is reading 45psi, from what i read it shouldnt go over 32. when i put in the fuel plate they gave me a boost fitting with an allen set screw, is that how i would turn it down? when i put in the fuel plate i didnt mark the factory position so i just slid it all the way twards the front of the truck? I have a 3k spring kit also but it seems to shut down at 3k anyway, was that ever an option? oh also got some 300 hp injectors probally gona go in this weekend. thanks for the help.

Move that pyro pre turbo!!! You will get very different readings.

thought about it but someone told me not to, the thermal couple tip could break off and go through the turbo?

It could I guess, but It would be highly unlikely. It comes down to your choice.

you are way overspooling that turbo

you are just blowin hot air, anything over 35 psi with a stock turbo. You need to lower the boost controler that you have in your truck. Seems to me that you need to have ur wastegate set as well. if you block it off, it will hurt your egts and also cause what you already have. 3K governer springs were never an option, why not go 4K tho? better to have more rpms than less. You pushed ur plate farther forward u are just fueling the truck harder. Stock position varies on these trucks, some have it full forward, some farther back, and some in the center. So i cannot tell u where the plate goes.

How are the starwheel and AFC adjusted? those are a big factor too..

Have you already installed the boost fitting you are talking about ? If so, it may be tightened all the way up thus closing off the boost pressure that opens the wastegate. Use the allen screw to loosen / open up the screw some, this screw controls the amount of boost pressure getting to the wastegate actuator. If that is not the problem, then you may have problems with your wastegate actuator or adjustment.
