New NV 4500 pops out of 1st gear

Here we go again. This will be the 4th transmission in this truck in 20,000 miles. Back in May, the original 5 spd(1st one) and clutch were completely shot. So it was replaced with a (2nd one) used 5spd (100,000miles on it) and a new clutch. Approx 3 months later, 5th gear was destroyed and was quoted 1500+ to put in new 5th gear, or at another shop, it was 2000 for rebuilt 5spd with 12month/unlimited mileage warranty, so I went the REBUILT route(3rd Trans). Now, approx 10,000 miles later on the so-called rebuilt trans, it pops out of 1st gear. I put it in gear, step on pedal and BANG, it pops out of gear, just once, then I put it back in gear and go. It does it every time I use 1st, doesn't matter if I try to hold it in 1st hard or lightly. SO the shop said come back down for warranty work, " sounds like you might need a new one" (4th trans). My question is: is the transmission really rebuilt or is it a salvage with a new 5th update and the company is just hoping I get thru one year with out a problem or is it really just my bad luck.
I am located in central Iowa, is there a good mechanic for stuff like this????
I have a good engine guy, but he only does engines. The transmission came from Zumbrota Minnesota. Does anyone know who it might be? are they good or bad? Did I get taken for a ride?

I'd eliminate the possibility and just get a new tranny from somewhere else.

if you still have warrenty try and use it but watch out for all the charges not covered by warrenty.. i just changed my brothers nv4500 in his dodge and hopfully the rebuilt i went with will work ok. other wise i guess i will overhaul it. the only reason i did not do this one was that it ran with no oil and was not enough to rebuild other than case.

update

I still have complete coverage on trans. A new trans was shipped yesterday. It will be installed today at No Charge. Hope this holds up. Hopefully the new warranty starts on date of install for new trans for another year of coverage.

5th NV4500 in 7 months HELP

OK, i'm stumped, the second reman trans is poping out of 1st gear again. It started off once and a while, now it is getting increasingly worse, almost to the point where it happens every other time I use 1st. Even if you hold it in, it will not stay. WHAT is wrong? Is the manufacturer that bad, they are a recognized reman company. Did he guy building them have a bad day?
I talked with the reman compnay and told me to come up to their facility and they would swap another trans in and would disassemble the bad one to see what is failing. They insist that it is not my or my trucks fault. Tech support said it has to be in the transmisson. SO I get to drive 3.5 hrs one way on my dime and get a freee trans, I think they should do more: this is UNACCEPTABLE. Any help/suggestions from anyone with more experinece than me?
Thanks

I agree with farmer0_1. At least the shop is standing behind their work. Big PITA to do the drive and time thing, but there are far more posts about shops and dealers worming their way out of shoddy work or products. Your problems are a bummer, but they could be worse. The only thing I would do is try to get a longer warranty because of your hassles, troubles and lack of confidence in their product. See if they go for it.

Found it. There was a problem with the shifter. It was the column type, not the type with a plate with 4 bolts. It was wearing funny and was wearing a goove in the cup that receives the shifter. The shop put the older 4 bolt stlye shifter and new trans in and works great. Glad they stood be hind it all. I will be a customer for life. Hopefully I won't see them for another 200,000+ miles.
