need pic of tranny Heat exchanger
need pic of tranny Heat exchanger
can anyone provide a pic or link to where i can see beforehand what I am after here . I seem to havea leak from what i am told is the tranny heat exchanger. after doing some searches i have found that the lines running to the exchanger are subject to problems also. with nearly 200K on the truck it may be time to change everything and I can't find any pics of what i am dealing with. The dealership parts man i use for parts now is pretty helpful but he or anyone else around here is not the most knowledgable about cummins parts. thanx , DAVE

Crossy, it's a black metal can right under the exhaust manifold. It is pretty obvious as to what it is. It has coolant lines running to it when looking at it from above the engine and you really need to lie on your back and get up under the truck to get a good look at the line (especially the rubber one). Just follow the lines from the tranny and it will take you right to it.
Of course follow the line that comes from the tranny and goes to the passenger side of the engine.
You will recognize it as soon as you see it. Black metal can about 4 inches by 7 inches. (something like that). Kevin

kevin I got that from your reply on the other post . I had no problem finding it originally. what i was hoping for was someone that had link to a good pic of it Uninstalled or installed on an engine out of the truck. Mainly looking for some detail pics of all the stuff leading to/from it. Lots of part numbers according to the search info I found but no pics. I won't be climbing under my truck for few days yet . thanx , DAVE
