Good luck finding a shop that will do though as removing the cat is illegal.
most private owned, local shops will do it. they care more about your money than the EPA.

When I put my stack on, I went 4" pipe from there the cat and muffler was on back to the 5" stack. I still wonder if anyone noticed the cat in the community dumpster.

MBRP stainless exhaust about 800.00 life time warranty well worth it. Since I plan on driving 1000,000 miles if I live that long!

Wow, thanks for all the replies to this thread. Now I am 100% committed to doing something and will report back. My reluctance to doing the whole system is the condition of the truck and $$. This thing is a grinder gentlemen. I am pretty sure most of your trucks are nicer than this thing.

When I bought the truck at 206K, It would barely idle at 400rpm as the link had rotated out. The sludge was incredible from leaks, mainly the vacuum pump(fixed), the turbo was blown, the tires were bald, the wiring had been mucked with, the battery cables were almost twice the size and green due to corrosion and I don't think this guy(s) was diligent about oil changes. There was actually some positive though as the clutch and brakes were new and it was stock.

Evidence of a fifth wheel as the subs are still in place and the former hole in the bed. It was drove hard an put away wet as they say. Out of my control. Everything is now 100% Amsoil front to rear.

It is an SLT and everything still works!!! Blows cold air too.

It may run for another 100K++, I don't know????? I am spoiled with the '05, but I like the older truck just the same.

After all this, I think the $350.00-375.00 alum. system makes sense.
