Need Help with Tranny and Clutch

I have a 93 dodge with the getrag and i alligned the clutch right and when i put my tranny in its leaving a 1 inch to 1 1/2 inch gap in between the bell housing and the transmission it self does any one have any suggestions cause its been sittin for a week cause i cant get to go in. Thanks, Dominic

i would guess its the shaft not in the pilot bearing.

Have you tried turning over the engine a few degrees by hand, is the tranny in gear ? it sounds like the shaft is not lined up correctly, So what do you have running gear wise ...............

If its 1 to 1-1/2" back and its a dual disc, your discs aren't aligned properly. Did you use that cheap plastic alignment tool to set the discs? If so, throw it in the garbage, pull the input shaft out and use the shaft as the alignment tool. Been there a couple times, its frustrating as hell, but thats the best way of making sure the discs are in proper alignment.

Ok thanks but are you sure the dual disk will work with a getrag

No idea, that would be something you should ask the vendor/manufacturer about.
