Name that noise!?!?!?!

Couple days ago i was backin our gooseneck trailer up and noticed a constant squeak at low speeds. Sounded like it would squeak once for about every one rotation of the wheel. Well tonight i noticed a high pitched squeal tonight while drivin at about 30mph, and its constant. As far as i know it just started tonight. My first thought is a wheel bearing. Any thoughts on what else it might be??? I havent checked it out yet but I might get a chance to look at it this weekend. Any info is appreciated.

I'd check your U-joints.

Brake warning clip on the front brake pads. They will squeak when the brakes need service - safety feature.

Alright sounds good. I'll be sure to check it out. Thanks. Might have saved me a lot of time.

It could be a wheel bearing too , so check that while you have it jacked up , TRUST ME.

not to highjack the thread, but I have a similar characteristic, so maybe this will add to it. There is a sqeak for every rotation of the wheel one the front drivers side at low rpm, above 25 it's gone. If I apply the brakes, it goes away. Could that be the low brake pad warning? Funny thing was it seemed to start after I got new tires put on...

I've got that one, too Iron City. I noticed that my driver side break caliber started sticking today, it'll be a couple weeks til I get a new one, but I'm thinking that it's just the pad lightly touching the rotor in spots. I'll post once I put a reman on, hopefully it goes away!

thanks Crimedog, look forward to seeing if that works for you.

Other weird things about this squeak, at 10-30mph, it squeaks when I'm turning right, squeaks intermittently going straight, but when driving at really low speed (< 5 mph), say in a parking garage, it squeaks either direction I turn, or going straight...

Anyone figure out what the problem was on their truck?? Mine's got the same thing....only in reverse.....if I slip it to Neutral and coast backwards it goes away....only when engaged in reverse. Hope we can all get this figured out! haha

I have a suggestion that is probably way off, but I used to drive a 2000 F350 4x4 and the front axle seals made a similar squeek.
Just a suggestion, hope it helps!!
