Question More Power, pump on stand.

Is it worth the money for me to remove my p7100 off my 98 12v and send it to Piers? It is the 180 pump. I just throw plates in, never done a gov lever arm adjustment, no idea where my afc is set. GSK has also never been fine tuned. Truck runs good, but how much better do they run after some adjustments are made by someone who actually knows what they are doing. Don't want to spend a bunch of money on a new pump, just think it might be worth a few extra ponies for a reasonable price. Downtime for pump tinkering is not an issue.

The short answer is YES. It is well worth having the pump set up on a stand and the initial lead reset to somewhere around 6 degrees, and the profile adapted for more power. These are things the home shop guys cannot do without a powered stand and flow meter.

After the work by someone like Piers you will have more power, better fuel economy, and know it will last just about forever. They will also take you through a process of determining just how to set up the pump for your driving needs and habits. That alone makes a pretty dramatic improvement in performance.
