making 600hp
making 600hp
What all do I need to do to a 2nd gen 12v to make 600 hp, and so the engine will stand up to it? Do I need to replace anything internally such as pistons, rings, or connecting rods? I was hoping I wouldn't need to, but I don't know. What do I need to do to the head? Could you please list everything. I want to put a 12v in an old 71-79' f250, but use it as a daily driver. Right now I have a stock 96' f250 powerstroke that I'll probably sell to make this happen. Thanks
the stock interals will handle it.. unlike most duramaxes and powerstrokes.. the head will need to be fire ringed and studded, you could even port n polish it after that its all dependant on the person because theres soo many ways to make 600 hp with these engines.. you could go single turbo, twin turbo, diesel only, or could add nitrous, propane injection, water methanol injection
Yes, he means head studs. O-ring the head, send your pump to Scheid Diesel, they can make it flow and turn 4K plus RPM's. Do DV's and a HEALTHY set of injecotrs. I would do a cam and H2O to try to drop EGTS. You can do this with a single charger, but a set of twins will be more liveable on the street. Oh, I don't think I need to say it, but a 4" exhaust and a good air filtration system.
