the old belt looked or I think it was a pollygrip by delco. I just bought a gator back and I am going to install it asap.

Like ironstone, check the idler pulley, it should be tight. If you even suspect it change it cause its about to go.

I Just greased the bearing on my idler pulley yesterday. This is my 2nd Dodge CTD and I have had to do this routinely on both. On both trucks it squeals badly in the spring. I think it has something to do with the humidity and warmer temps.

Pull the idler off get, a T50 torx and pull the pulley off the idler. Take a pick and gently remove the seals without piercing them, pack with some good grease, reseal, reassemble, repeat as needed. Or you can buy a new idler pulley for more then $100-150. I'm too cheap I just lube the old one as needed.

I'd like to replace the bearing on the pulley but I don't think it can be removed without damaging the pulley. It looks like some kind of composite material or pot metal or something.

Would "razorbak" actually be "Gatorback", the one Goodyear sells? That's a popular belt because it is less prone to make noise.

Check one more thing. check the bearing that the fan rides on. I had one go bad. Remove the belt and spin it see if it is free.

I put a new tensioner and gator back belt on and the noise is gone I noticed the new tensioner does not move as much as the old one did.
