transmission problems!

My 1997 work truck isn't shifting correctly. shifts into 2nd at about 10mph then into drive at about 28mph, but then it will not shift into overdrive until 62mph. then it downshifts out of overdrive at 58mph. i have had many dodge trucks, and i know this isn't normal. shouldn't this truck be shifting into overdrive between 45 and 50 mph? any help would be great. thanks

Just went through similar situation with a BRAND NEW transmission - about 1200 miles on it (had been too busy to do the thousand-mile fluid change yet). After dumping the fluid, inspecting the partially blocked filter (!!?!!) and cleaning a lot of really fine stuff out of the pan, it ran like it should.

BUT... before I got to that I was doing the electrical side trouble shooting, and that included a brand new TPS from Cummins.
As it turned out the one in the truck was nearly new.... I put them side by side and they bench test identically. Dang thing wasn't even dirty!

So, if anybody out there needs a GOOD TPS, though not new.... give me a shout. I'll sell it for a heck of a lot less than I paid Cummins for the new one!
