Low-side A/C system fitting?
Low-side A/C system fitting?
If the Low side A/C fitting the one located just next to the battery on the passanger's side of the truck, near the radiator. I need to recharge the A/C on 96_12V, tried with an older setup just now. Connecting the bottle it indicated 120psi and would not take a charge. Tried charging with the engine ideling, A/C on. Is something I'm doing wrong? Thanks for the help!
Are you sure you are on the low side. Should be the larger of the two A/C lines.( On 2001 low side is by the air filter and firewall). If you are on the low side make sure the compressor is running(pressure should be between 35 and 50 psi low side depending on outside temp.). If you are getting 120 psi with compressor running (look to see if clutch is cycling)you have something wrong.( Compressor might have equalized which means its bad). Also low side will usually have a black cap with a L on it.
