Low boost today..help!...
truck's been running great for a coupla weeks (see mods in sig) yesterday while towing the car trailer, while merging onto the highway, went to 'give it some' and there was plenty of smoke (as usual) but the boost pressure only climbed to 15 psi or so, and stopped, even at WOT in 4th and 5th...the fuel is there, just no boost.
The turbo is well taken care of, with plenty of time to always cool to 275-300 deg before shutting down.
I've checked all the intercooler boots, and didn't notice anything abnormal... i didn't actually take them off, but by touching/looking i didn't notice anything...
ANY THOUGHTS?
thanks guys!

I'd check the wastegate actuator and make sure it isn't sticking open. You could even wire the wastegate shut and take it for a run to see if that solves the problem. Also check the line to the AFC for leaks.

F*ck... of course...it's like i had thought in the beginning, but couldn't see it until i got under the front end it was the
STUPID INTERCOOLER BOOT
the lower portion of the driver's side inner fender had sawn a 2.5" cut LENGTH-WISE into the boot...
unless my truck has been hit, it almost seems that the 'cooler boots are way too close to the inner fenders...almost like the intercooler and tubing was shoe-horned in there..
is this issue common? as i can't see anything out of place, just the inner-fender being mean...
where should i go to get another, or is there some crazy fix avail? i know a fleetpride will sell silicone boots, but will they be the 3"-4" 45 deg i need?
i'm guessing a strip of some plastic casing ( like some people put on the edges of their doors to prevent dings/dents/chipped paint) would be best to prevent any future issues...of course, after the BFH
Thanks guys...

Buy a PDR111202 here http://www.piersdiesel.com/DodgeUSPrice.htm for $65 and it will never happen again. The dealer will charge you three times more for a flimsy boot that puffs up to twice it's size under boost and rubs. The PDR boots don't puff up.
There aren't many sources for good boots and they are all sort of pricey due to the odd angle with a different size on each end.
