Lost boost

I installed a 3K gsk and straight piped my truck during the first week of this month. Since that time I have noticed that I have lost about 10psi of peak boost during long WOT runs. I have also lost about 5psi of boost during short blasts. Could the GSK be causing this? Or is the open exhaust effecting the way the turbo spools?

Thaanks in advance.
Joe

PS It also feels like I have lost some HP towing as well.

(Note to Mod.: Feel free to move this to a more appropriate forum if needed)
Re:Lost boost

One would think the turbo would spool up quicker?? Would the gsk affect this? Can't answer. Do you have a boost gauge? I wonder if now you have to increase the boost due to the changes (changes require more boost). But don't take my word for it. Let others with more knowledge reply. Just trying to give you ideas. Re:Lost boost

Did you get a bigger pipe? I'm no expert, but there might be less backpressure on your turbo, causing it to generate less boost? ???

Re:Lost boost

when I changed my exhaust from the factory to gutting the cat and installing a performance muffler I could tell a difference in the power especially down low in the rpms but I did not have a boost gauge at that time so I do not know what it did to the boost just add a fuel plate, better injectors, better air cleaner and you will be ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Gov, lever needs to be adjusted.
It being out of adjustment will cause you to lose boost.
After changing the springs it prob. will need to be adjusted.
It should be looked at after a plate swap, but nobody does.

I do ! ;D

: Eddie : 8)

Re:Lost and found boost

Found my problem today. The inner finder had rubbed a hole in the intercooler inlet boot. ******* wants $150 for a new one. I am exploring other options.
