I found the leak. its the return line.
what size is it? it looks like 3/8 and I need to buy new hose before taking off the old one. also how many feet should I get, and are there any special fittings on either end?

One of the lines are 3/8, the other is 5/16. Replace both since you're at it. Helps to remove the starter. This is a good time to replace the starter contacts.
