Is their anyone in the Winston Salem, Greensboro, N.C. area that knows how to time a 12v that would be willing to help me turn up the timing on my truck. I cant find a decent diesel mechanic in the area that can do it for what little money i can pay. I would like to turn up the timing but im afraid of doing it myself since i have never done it before.

Check with TIminVA. he's in Virginia Beach and has a good rep for reasonable prices and quality work. Still a few hours from you but does good work
