Looking to buy 98 2wd auto Good or bad?

Here is the run down on the truck. I haven't seen it in person yet. I don't want to drive all that far to take a look if it is not worth it.

1998 Dodge Ram 2500 12v auto 2-wheel drive 81k miles
limited-slip rear (4.10's I think)
2dr extended cab short bed
PW, PDL, A/C, brake controller and heated mirrors
receiver hitch with large round rv style recepticle and a gooseneck hitch in the bed with bed mounted small and large round recepticle.
There was a fifth wheel hitch mounted in the bed but that was sold which left some empty bolt holes in the bed. Truck has . Truck was taken care of and is clean, the only known issues are a wear spot on the exit side of the driver's seat (see picture), a shallow dent on the passengers side low on the bed in front of the rear tire and a hole in the tail pipe near the muffler. Truck has approx 81k miles and runs well, all tires are LT245 75R 16 RANGE E, front tires match with approx 1/2 tread, rear tires are like new of similar tread but one is goodyear and other is firestone.

Thats most of what they said in the listing. So i emailed them and this is the response I got.

The truck was my Dad's and he passed away about two months ago and dont know the previous owner. My Dad bought it from a local dealer in about 2003 with about 28,000 miles on it, now it has 81,000 miles. The truck is still stock with no mods to it, it was used to haul a 30' camper to many areas to play golf and relax. Every thing mechanical wise seems to function as it should and the only thing he had worked on was the limited slip and some bearings in the rear replaced/rebuilt by a local Dodge dealer.

So I am thinking having the rear end rebuilt with less than 81K miles seems bad. I'm not really sure what a 30' camper would weigh, but I am guessing ALOT. And towing that much I would think a trans rebuild is in the near future.
Let me know what I should ask and/or for if I go and look at it. This would be my first 12v, so I am learning as much as I can on here.

Well if I found that truck around here, for 10k or less I would have already written a check. the old timer probably never ragged on it, just cruised down the highway

It is almost impossible to wear these engines out with stock fueling, especially with 81k. He could have had the rear end leak fluid to the point it needed rebuilt. It sounds like a nice truck.

Sounds like a good truck. If the price is right I'd get it.
