band adjustment
if the trans is a torgue-flite or the torgue-flite based OD it doesnt matter. pull the pan, pull down hard on the apply lever, adjust until there is .250 of clearance between servo and apply lever and tighten jam nut. i have done this since 1964 with absolutely no problems. raced them for 12 years and have built one or two.
so .250 or 1/4 in and you are good to go!
many thanks for this verification. I had problems verifying mine is a 47RE. could not leave pan open, so went for the 47RE spec's.
adjusted front and rear band to 47RE spec's. seems final adjustments ended up with .250 clarance on apply lever.
slightly off topic.... in DTR FAQ writer recommends using hydralic fluid instead of standard ATF. or switch to synthetic. since I cannot drain all fluid out. it makes more sense to use hydralic fluid.
Please verify... hydralic fluid is OK to use and which type?
thanks,
