Lift Pump Going Bad???
98 12v, If I drive in town, I have no problems, If I hit the interstate and drive at whatever speeds, it runs great....after running 2 or 3 hours at hiway speeds, and get off, when I come to a stop the truck will lope really bad, rpm will drop to 350 or 400 and then it will die.....Now it will start right back up and if you rev it once or twice..everything is fine.
So my question is, do I have a bad lift pump....or is it something else.
I change my fuel filter every 8000 miles.....I drive 2000 miles a week so it gets alot of fuel put through it.
Any help here would be great. ??? ??? ???
Also can I remove the bleeder screw on top of the filter housing and take a pressure reading from there.
Thanks,
Allen

Re:Lift Pump Going Bad???
Yes you can get a pressure reading from there.
But it sounds like you may have an overfloe velve prob.
It coulb be sticking because of a weak spring.

If this is the same valve....it is located on the passengerside of the injector pump towards the top front corner.
I got a new one from piers and installed it.Now i did that more has a preventative maint. thing, I have not had any problems until now....but that doesnt mean that it has not gone bad, but i will do my pressure reading first on the lift pump.
Thanks
