My roomie has a 94 12v 4WD 5sp. The thermostat housing has a troublesome leak and He asked me to post for a cure. He tried replacing the o ring but the thing still leaks. He mentioned the lack of a gasket or seal below the engine lift ring. Any thoughts?

 

Often head gasket seepage is mistaken for a thermostat leak.

Never have a problem with thermostat housing leak on mine or any truck I worked on.
