KDP & Timing Case Gasket ?

When most of you do the KDP do you go back with a new timing case gasket, or is just using the black permatex good enough ? If using the permatex, how long before you can run the engine ?

I used the silicon TST provided for me, no gasket. I let it dry for overnight just to make sure. No leaks at all.

No gasket. That RTV stuff is really good stuff for making gaskets. M ake sure you replace the seal though.

Well I have the TST kit with the seal, but I'm hoping to do this at a DTR wrench party and I'll have to drive about an hour+ after to come home.

I used whatever goo I had on hand, the black stuff, I think, bolted it back together and ran it as soon as everything was bolted back up. No leaks so far. It's been 2 years and 28K now.
