KDP Fix and timing adjustment.

I have two questions. 1) When I do my KDP fix, would that be a good time to advance the timing......would it make it any easier to do?

2) If I had someone else advance the timing, how much should it cost?

It makes it a little easier to clean the shaft and gear with the cover off but it's not all that hard to clean them though the removed oil fill hole either.

Going rate to adjust the timing the right way is about $150-$250

That's what I did. It's easier to adjust and easier to find TDC since you have some marking on the gears and use the drop valve method to trully find TDC.

If I had to do the drop valve method the first time without being close to TDC, it would be scary as hell.

Oops, did it myself so I have no clue. Did all the mods myself and this is my first diesel engine.
