Well i just bought a 1994 2500 4x4. It has an exhaust and guages on it but i dont think it has any power adders as it doesnt smoke much and the boost doesnt get much over 15psi even when i try, still goes pretty good. It does have a 4" straight pipe exhaust which sounds AWESOME, sounds like a semi truck. This sounds nuts but i like driving this truck better than my 04.5 dodge cummins 600 even though it doesnt have close to the same power its that sound that is awesome. Well some more details... its in great shape, the original owner had a bunch of radio's in it and took care of the truck, it has an aftermarket fuel filter of some sort too. It has 191k on it, its an auto and seems to shift great.
I know about the KDP on these motors, how can i tell if mine has been fixed? Anything else i should be aware of? I really want to add some power to it but know the tranny wont be able to hold it so i think i am going to wait for a while and just use it as is.
Thanks, Sean
PS- also the fuel guage is screwed up i think, it was pretty close to empty and i filled it up today and it only took 19gallons(17 till it clicked then i put in 2 more) Dont these trucks have 35 gallon tanks?

Congrats on the buy. Yes these trucks are notorious for having bad fuel sending units. You can get a new one for around 50$.
I think a pretty easy way to tell about the KDP is usually stock the front cover is black. If it is a aluminum color it has probably been changed, also alot of times depending on who done it i have seen alot of people not put the engine data plate back on which sucks if you need motor parts.
