If that is cruise temp then it is high. When it is cool out here in TX, I run 650-700. It will sneak up to 750 when it is 100dF or more ambient temp outside or if I push up past 75mph. And mine smokes like a frieght train off idle if you flog it.....I have been too lazy to tune the AFC and Zero.

What is your cruise boost at that EGT and what does your truck weigh?

yes everything was checked and i pressurized the system to 35 psi on the regulator on the air compressor. but the psi gauge on the truck adapter on the turbo read 20 psi. which was odd there.

One of two things; the gauge is bad or you have leaks. Just because you put 35psi on the regulator does not mean it held it. Sounds like it was holding 20psi of the 35.

At that GVW, it makes sense on the EGT, but not the boost to me. My truck makes 7psi at 70mph and 7500GVW. I would think at that weight you would see 12psi or so? Someone that regularly drives at that weight would have to chime in.

I would agree. That EGT should be in the 12-14 psi range for boost..

now we have a 40-50 mph head wind.

i floor the truck. i get
23 psi max
75 mph up a slight grade
1150* exhaust temp n stops there

no matter what with the OD ON the exhaust won't get hotter. now if i shut the OD OFF i can get 26 psi boost n peg the exhaust at 1500*

its gotta be something simple here.

i had a similar problem in a WRX that i owned. i kept turning up the boost but that is not the answer! i has a loose boost line connection between the manifold and the boost gauge. it didnt hit me til it completely blew off, read 0 psi and still took off like a rocket. does it still pull pretty hard? if it does you may have a similar problem and you cant hear a leak if its on the backside of the gauge or as small as a boost line.

i had the boost gauge leak before but this seems alot different. could the turbo be leaking boost out the exhaust?? cause when i pressurized the system i could hear the airflow through the turbo. is it possible???

i missed your last post before i started blowing up the last 2 messages where you mention pegging the egt at 1500 out of overdrive. and only 1150 in overdrive with 23lbs of boost. once again check your boost gauge connections, you could be making more boost than you think. if youre truck has more power than before the gsk and stuff you could have been past 45psi when you dropped out of overdrive, trust me, ive seen it happen with a similar setup. if you can only get to 1150 egt in overdrive you might have room to throw a little more fuel at it. i would also get your timing done right, 15.5-16.5 should be good for highway towing, help you with efficiency and egts. how many rpms were you at when you could only get 1150 out of the egt?

there might be your problem.... the further to the FRONT of the truck the more fuel you get. same thing with the fuel plate, further forward = more fuel.
