Instrument package

I have been looking at getting a 12 valve but am having a hard time finding a 1998 like I want. I was wondering if anyone had upgraded the old 94-97 instrument panel and interior to the newer 98 interior. Or if this is even possible or $ feisable. I didn't know if the wiring would be different or just a plug in application. Are there other things that are differnt when you go to a 98+ as far as the interior goes. I like the newer interior but want to get a 12 valve to replace PSD. Any advice is appreciated.

I'm not speaking from experience, I've never even thought of changing out an interior. But it sounds to me like that would be opening a can of worms. I'd keep looking for a 98, you will probably have less headaches in the long run. Just my $.02

Just my personal opinion but I don't see how anyone who has driven both the older and newer style dashes would prefer the newer. Cup holder is about the only improvement.
What I dislike to no end is the newer dash's climate control:
fan is on all the time, A/C is on in most positions, and biggest of all no recirculate position.

I agree 100%! I greatly prefer the old dash. I miss the rear doors, but never really liked the newer dash. I love my cubby hole and shelf in the glove box. And I have a CB mounted where my useless cupholer was. And the cupholder on the new sticks is not all that great.
