i know someone who dynoed with those stage 2's from pensacola and they make what they say they do, so, for the price of those injectors i would buy and use for a yr at least and then just sell them or hang on to them.

I have heard good things about Pensacola. I remember reading somewhere that they are just plain old bosch injectors. I want to say the stage 1s are the Bosch 330s and the stage 2s are the Bosch 370s. They advertise their Stage 1s as a 40-60hp injector and the Stage 2s as a 70-90hp injector. Bosch 330s are a 50hp injector. Bosch 370s are a 90hp injector.
Just a coincidence? I dont know. Good price on them though.

I have ran the Bosch 370s and they are VERY smokey. The idle haze I couldnt stand.
I then ran New Era 370s. They arent as smokey and the idle haze wasnt as bad, but its still there.
I am know running DDP4s and they can be smokey if you want them to be, but the idle haze is gone. Its hard to tell if the truck is running when I look out the window.
Bosch 370s do not have the correct spray pattern.
New Era takes bosch cores and has the nozzles EDMd for the correct spray pattern.
DDP takes NEW injectors EDMs the tip to the correct spray pattern and then extrude hones them so they are perfect. One of the best injectors money can buy.

I installed the Stage II about 2 years ago and yeah they are 4 hole and a bit smokey. After installing them they made the truck "chug" at lower RPM's. I put in a 3K GSK , no more chugging and now the truck can make use of the fuel, runs really nice. Pretty easy install.

sounds good. the truck already smokes like a train (black) down low anyway so I guess I'm used to it.

I had similar experience with the DDP's. I think my OEM 215's were getting weak as with the DDP3's its smooth idling and no stumble. I thought I was getting bum injectors when I first put them in because it idled so well and no smoke. Then I floored it and that set the record straight..LOL.. I like them, especially in the cold, they fire right up. I remember a few guys with the 370's that have problems with cold starts and idle smoke. Not with the DDP's. ( I don't get kickbacks, I bought them used and I am not affiliated with DDP in any way)

Im not affiliated with DDP either. They are just a very good injector. I bought them because I read on how the idle haze was gone. I got sick and tired of telling the kids 6&4 to stay away from the exhaust. They would both stink like diesel.
Like I said before. I tried 2 different brands of injectors and I should have just spent the money on the DDPs first. Probably one of my favorite upgrades, besides the Espar.

When I first put them in, I was at my brothers house and I started the truck and we couldnt believe how nice it idled and how clean they were. I think the bothh of us just stood there and watched the exhaust for about an hour in amazement.

Ive been thinking about getting a set of these for my 12v as well. I want a clean smooth idle but i also want it to put out just as much or more smoke as stock when i get on the throttle. Did the DDP's clean-up just the idle? Or did it clean up exhaust smoke on and off the throttle?

OH, they still smoke when you want them to.
Idle is cleaner and in town driving like normal cleaned up. But when you mash it it rolls the coal.
I run a zero plate, and I used to smoke all over just driving normal (before the DDPs)

that's my thing. ground plate and I smoke all over. you need to be careful if you want to see what's going on around you. I like the smoke though. I think that I would ather keep for the most part so I will get along fine with the cheap injectors. My stockers @ 215k are so carboned up that they probably aren't the correct spray pattern either. I like people knowing when I mash the foot feed, keeps them from tailgating or getting my plate #!!

For me it was most improved at idle and low boost, low load around town. My old 215's would be hazy on low load running around town. Don't be fooled, I can black out 2 lanes of traffic at WOT and wind the S300 to 48psi in a heartbeat. But once you are just putting around town they are really nice. I am also very pleased with increased power at that low load condition. It smokes less than the OEMS but I rarely have to use more than 1/4 throttle to get up and get going. I think that has alot to do with less smoke as well. It feeds the fire early and you don't need to mash the throttle to get going.

I too just stared at the tailpipe in amazement on the first start. Crisp clean diesel exhaust, not slobbering blue haze.
