What is different between the differnt hp rated p7100s, and can earlier units be modified to similar levels (of potential) as the later units?

 

There are many differences between the different pumps, P&B's, cams, etc. The cost to modify a lower HP pump into a 215HP pump would be very expensive. It could be done but it would be much cheaper to just purchase a 215 pump rather than try and mdofy an existing pump.

If HP is what you want a 180 pump can be turned up way past a stock 215 pump by going with 13mm P&B's. The 215 and 180 share the same cam design so basically it would make the same HP as a 13mm 215 pump (stock for both pumps is 12mm).

Plunger & Barrel. Basically a little piston fuel pump for each injector
