Injection pump
It not really a question.
I just finished putting a injection pump on a 1990 dodge ctd. I bought the truck about six months ago and have been driving it every day. So far it has been a really good truck. The injection pump was not hard to install. My first one. But it took me two days to bleed the air out of the system. If anyone has a fast way to do this so I'll know. I can honestly say that I have learned a lot from this project. Pump and engine timeing mostly. Anyway. I'm new here hello all

Why did it take 2 days?
Should have been as simple as using the priming lever on the lift pump to get the fuel to the Injection pump, then cracking the first 3 Injector lines at the Injector and waiting on it to flow out. She should have started hitting on a few and self bled the rest.
Until you get ignorant on the turning up, it won't hurt the pump........

Thanks. It set for almost a week. It ha s fass lift pump. Battery went dead and it's a really long story. I was n a campground n savanna ga. First time I had ever had to change one. I eventually turned motor by had and left pump running till the injector started to get fuel to it. Not sure why it took so long but it did. I almost bought new injectors Glad it started when it did. Drive truck back to Tennessee pulling my camper. Ran good but I did notice that the egts got up way quicker than they used to. Done some fine tuning today and have decided that I'm going to wait till I get an intercooler before turning up the pump. The new pump seems to fuel it a lot faster than the old one. Could this be the case? I don't know

Also I noticed on a test drive that it smokes quite a lot more than befor and the injector pump knock is a lot louder. Not sure but I think it might need to be timed. I did put the m&h timing spacer in it and a fuel pin but haven't turned it up as of yet. This truck still tows my camper and like in the previous post I think it needs to wait for the intercooler
