Idle EGTs...
I have a question, I am starting to wonder if my pyro is reading low. I can get it hot have hit 1300* then backed off, usually hit 900* getting to speed on the highway at normal acceleration. Driving in town, I see 500-600*, unless traffic is bad (for here) 70, unloaded is like 550* (usually have the trailer, I need to notice when the trailer is unhooked.
But when I start it I idle for a few secconds before taking off, (I know, should do it longer.) It dosen't really move untill I have driven 30 yards or so. And if I let it idle it drops to about 200* maybe a little lower. Is that normal, seems like I heard idle should be about 300*. Or is that just what I shouls let cool to, even though it is higher that idle temp?

Seems a little low to me. Mine usually idles right at 300* and so do other peoples trucks that i have seen. If i just put it in gear and hold the brake, my EGTs will climb. Sounds like your pyro may be acting a little weird. Is your probe mounted pre or post turbo??

From a cold start mine takes 15 to 20 seconds to come up to the temp of the EGT. How long are you letting it idle to get to 200*? After a trip to work (about 20 min for me) if I sit in the parking lot and let it idle for about 5 min I am about 250*. It sounds to me like yours is close to the same. Mine has done this since new.

Well caveman, yours sounds like it acts like mine. And we both have Isspro EV series... And I paid a little more attention today, it is idleing down to about 250* not 200* and it takes about 5 min or so, I drive pretty easy the last 1/2 to 1/4 mile, so it usually takes under 5 min.
