i have a defuel point!
i have a defuel point!
i have the 3kgsks and the stock plate....and when i rip the truck it will rev really nicely to 2300rpms then pauses...rpms dont go up and then surges forward with the rpms lal the way to 3200 if i let it.....this happens in the gears when unlocked......
what in the world is that?....is that the stock plate? or am i actually experiencing some sort of TC stall at that rpm?

It sounds like trans. but not sure , wanted to post to watch for anserws, I first noticed it with mine and thought it was defueling , get on it to pass at 40-50 , then a couple times from a stop-some one trying to cut me off. One of the times at a stop I noticed the tach and saw it climb to 2800-3000 then I knew that it must be trans. from what I've read about up grading trans. it sounds like clutches slipping ,T.Q. and fliud leaking[seals not holding the pressure] so this seems to give more reason for the expence of trans. up grade- the problum is this one is doing what I ask it unless I try to drive like a hot rod[ whitch its not yet...]
My .02 is that your stock plate is causing this.......IMO, a GSK and a stock plate is not the greatest combo. Grind that stocker to a #100 and watch the GSK shine. The #100 will allow a much smoother transition through the throttle range without multiple defuel points like the ugly stocker.
You can see, feel & HEAR it on the plates with a big nose.
That's why #10, #4, #0, #100, etc. all compliment the governor springs.
Now the question is how long will that stock transmission last if you're driving it that hard. hhmm?
John
Your truck may not be a hot rod, but does have enough horsepower to over power a stock torque converter. Dave (Goerend) uses the expression driving through the converter. Burns up the lock-up clutch real quick due to the high rpm mismatch between impellor & turbine.
Been there done that, got a Goerend rebuild.
