how can I make this suncoast rebuild last?
Hey guys,
I have a 97 3500 4x4 diesel I am dropping the truck off tomorrow morning at the local AAMCO here in Panama City, FL, to have the trans rebuilt. The owner is nice enough to work with me a let me pay him a down payment and then work out a payment plan for the rest he is even willing to get the suncoast rebuild kit and TC since he put one in his friend's 97 dodge. My question is what is some advice you folks can give me on making this thing last for a long time other than tranny cooler and temp gauge? I will eventually be installing an exhaust and intake on the truck as well as a mild fuel plate, I won't be going too extreme since this is my DD. Thanks in advance for any help you guys might have.

Check out eBay, local auto shop, thrift store, etc... Find one you like and install it. Just a simple on/off switch is all you need. Nuthin' fancy... If you use a fancy switch with a light, you'll need to use it in conjunction with a relay so it doesn't confuse the PCM. A light seems to do that.
