I have a 1997 Ram duelly 3500 two wheel drive auto. When I tow my fifth wheel rv which is 40 ft long up hills my EGT really starts to go up to about 1200 and higher. When Im towing on flat pavement it runs about 850 to 950 at 55mph. What can I do to bring down my EGT??? The only thing I done is change the Injectors from stock to 300 HP every thing else is stock.

 

What do you have for upgrades?Or is the truck stock?

First thing to do is ditch the stock exhaust system and cat for at least a 4"
Freer flowing muffler or not is your choice.
Next comes a freer flowing airfilter, many choices to choose from.

 

is your pyro pre turbo or post? I can get to 1400-1700* pulling my work trailer(4500lbs). When sled pulling I get up to 1850*. I cant get mine down even with a bigger turbo. Ive been getting this hot for about 6 months now, tru ck has no problems at alll, but it only gets those egt's for short periods of time. I did get tired of backing out of it on a hill one day and held the truck at around 1500* to climb a 2 mile 6% grade hill.
