Hard to get into Park?

My truck doesn't like to start in park most of the time. And now It is hard for me to get it into park. I have to go all the way down to 1st an all the way back to park. Is the linkage worn out? Or is there a way to tighten this up? Or do I need to replace something? Any help would be appreciated.

Same problem here, big problem when it slipped from P to R. Thank God turned out ok and no one got hurt. I removed steering column and found excessive slop in the collapsable portion of the column. I placed two tack welds on either side of the column and she shifts like new again. However, will not collapse unless there is enough force to break the tack welds. New column was over $1100.00

Yes that is what has happened to me. I thought I was in park and it started to back up. How hard is it to remove the steering column.

Not hard to remove column at all. Entire fix took 1/2 day. Very important to tie steering wheel with bungie cords or other, to prevent wheel from turning while removing and repairing. Once removed you will see where the two steering shafts slide together, one inside of the other. That is where the excessive wear occurs.
