H1C cartridge in WH1C?

Can I take the housings off my WH1C and put them on the H1C? I have an H1C off of a 4Bt and it is a good turbo. The WH1C off of my truck is shot. I bought a rebuild kit for the WH1C but, when I got it apart, the compressor wheel had been rubbing the housing and is pretty wore down. I don't think I want to use that compressor wheel. If I put any more money in this I'm going to have more then a new cartridge would have cost me. I'd rather just swap the cartidge out of the H1C into the WH1C and get it back on my truck. I think it will work fine, I just want to double check before I take it apart. Clear as mud?

The H1C off the 4BT most likely has a smaller compressor wheel and would not work for what you want to do. Check the compressor and turbine wheel sizes first, there is a small chance they are the same, if they are should work no problem, if they aren't, well your back to the drawing board.

I sure hope it's the same size. Hi Tech Turbo is nickle and diming me to death. The kit they sent me to rebuild the WH1C doesn't contain a thrust collar. They claim Holset doesn't include it in the kit. The rebuild instructions from Holset says to discard the old one. Mine is cracked in several places. Hi Tech wants $27 for that little gem. I've learned my lesson on this deal. Next time I'm just going to order the cartridge and be done with it.
