Going with TWIN Turbos!!!!

Any one with experience/knowledge have any advise for how to set up my fuel? I'm most likely not going to change my fuel much since I'm looking for cooler egt's and better fuel efficiency. I expect to burn the diesel better with better/higher/cooler boost. Seems to be safer than propane. Of course I'll post my findings when they are on. Bummer is I have to drill my oil pan. I'm probably going to have to use a a lift at the shop to move the engine up and get the pan out. Not sure the best way of attack is- heard a 2k cherry picker won't cut it. Any way hopefully by first week of Aug I'll be running. SHould only take a day to do.

I can comment on taking the pan in and out if you have to. I've heard some guys don't take the pan down, they punch a hole and thread the pipe to hose adapter in and use something like JB weld to seal it up.

2000 lbs cherry picker shouldn't have any trouble, loosen the engine mount bolts, take out the fan and fan shroud, unhook the intercooler from the engine on both sides, I think I got everthing, just keep an eye on things to make sure nothing gets hooked. Pick it up as high as it will go, your going to hit the cab with the back of the valve covers.

Now if you did some planning ahead you will have taken most of the oil pan bolts out before you rolled the cherry picker in there. Drop the pan (oil drained of course) and remove the 4 bolts that hold the pickup tube and drop that into the pan. The pan should now drop right out.

Reverse procedure to put back together, put pickup tube in oil pan first then hold the pan up with your knees while you try to put the 4 oil pickup bolts back in with out dropping them into the pan.

I dropped my pan in a similar fashion when I rolled main bearings into my '96. It's not so much difficult as it is time consuming. It was my first venture into the belly of the mighty Cummins, so I was more than a bit nervous, too!
