Going to re install head on Monday - Help with vavle adjustments!?!?
I will get my head back tomorrow and will be getting my truck all back together some time in the afternoon. Can someone run me down on the procedure on setting the valves. Proper technique, tricks, ect?
Also when I set my head in I was going to isntall two studs ( ARP screw in studs) in on the passenger side to help align the head. Anyone see any issues with this?
thanks......

The head already has,or should have 2 alignment sleeves.I doubt you will have clearance to have studs pre installed except on a first gen where the cowl does not sit above the head. The valve adjust is just like any other engine no trick needed.

well the easiest way is look for overlap on #6 then adjust #1 in. and exh. then #2 in. #3 exh. #4 in and #5 exh. then turn the engine over until you get #1 in overlap and adjust #2 exh. #3 in. #4 exh. #5 in. and #6 in. and exh.

Before you install the head, put the #1 piston on TDC and mark the balancer with paint. This will make future valve adjustments or timing adjustments easier to handle.
