Getting timed in North NJ?
Getting timed in North NJ? PLEASE HELP!!
I actually posted this a few months back and a member told me to call the guy at Corigliano Dodge in Boonton, NJ and I finally did today. He was kind of short with me when he heard I had another place install a 4KGSK and he said he didn't even want to touch it and he wouldn't do anything except put the timing to stock so I told him to have a nice day. Now I am back to sqaure one. Does anyone know of any other places in North NJ or South Eastern NY that will do this and do a good job. I know autowurks will but they wanted $350 to do it
. Any advice would be great.

I called them today, the guy said they don't work on the Cummins "B" engines at all. Does ANYONE have a place in Northern NJ or SE NY that I can bring my truck to within the next week or two? I really need to get this done and if I can't find someone to do it for a reasonable price I'm going to have to bend over and have Autowurks do it. Someone please help.

FWIW the place in Flanders flat out told me "no, we don't work on those engines" so don't anyone else bother calling them. Then I called Autowurks again and they wanted $390 to do it. I enjoyed dealing with them when they did my clutch as they took time to BS with me for a bit but not so much that I'd fork over that kind of moeny to get timed. So I took a shot in the dark and asked one of the tool guys that comes into the dealer where I work and he said there was a fantastic diesel tech in the Dodge dealer right up the road from us. One guy left our shop to go work there so it was time to pay my old co-worker a visit. He introduced me to the guy that does all the diesel work and he was not only VERY knowledgeable but he was a really nice guy. Most of the people I talked to when I called around seemed annoyed that I'd want to give them my business so "F" 'em. Anyway, assuming all goes well I'll have some results by the end of next week. If he agrees to it I'll give his contact info to anyone who PM's me regarding having their's done. It was really a pleasant suprise to find someone knowledgeable AND personable. Too often when someone is a really skilled tech, they begin to get a "big head". Thanks for everyone's help.
