Gear change or not

Have a 5sp with 4:10s, thinking of going to 19.5 wheels with 3:73, or stay with my 285r8516, and getting a Gear Vender.

Anyone got an answer for this one.

Looking for better mileage, tire wear, and durability.

Thinking that 3:73 with 19.5 would give me about 20mpg empty on the road.

Thanks Trickytrae

Hmmmm... 285's with 4.10's and 5th gear 1800rpm at 65. You won't get better mileage than where your at now. Going faster will cut mileage and slowing the rpm's will lug the engine.

The big tires will last twice to three times as long, but if you want better mileage you need to get that big brick down on the ground and keep the air out from under it! Not exactly LeMans racers we own, the aerodynamics are lousy.

Have you ever thought about adding a torque plate to your pump. I know this sounds crazy but when I added mine I gained about 2.5 mpg ;D, after the new wore off having that x-tra power
