fuel work
fuel work
While working on the problem here and here (waiting for the cleaner to evaporate out of the TPS), I did a little fueling work.
I removed the AFC housing and slid the plate all the way forward. The fuel plate was a lot more forward than it was rearward already. In other words, I was hoping I would have been able to move it further forward than I did. The AFC was all the way to the rear, and I kept it there, as I had already moved the star wheel forward quite a bit already. I took the oppurtunity to change out the fuel plate bolts, and AFC bolts to 6mm allen socket cap screws. I also replaced the fuel filter. I can certainly feel a lot more power. Nothing extravagant, but it is very noticeable. My boost now reaches 20 PSI, and my EGT's can easily hit 1100 degrees. I really should just put in a #10 plate, 3GSK, and boost elbow. I can actually feel my transmission shift better, but now I have the itch for a new trans in order to actually feel the increased power.
Here's an interesting thing about the fuel filter. This time, and the last time I changed it, there has been a small amount of metal particles in the canister. Has anybody else had this?
