Fuel problem

This is my first post. I have just been informed that most likely the fuel transfer pump is bad on my 2002 2500 Dodge. They also said that the IP would probably need to be replaced as well. We're talking $2300 at least. Right now, the truck is running good. I have had intermittent problems for about a month with lack of acceleration. My question is this. Should I just replace the transfer pump and see if the problem disappears?

As plow says ,ask on 24 v forum .Get a fuel pressure gauge installed and probably a new lift pump.Lift pumps on 24 v die then can kill the IP.Pressure gauge first though.24 v guys can help better.
