fuel line replacement pics

I want to do this soon, no problems, just to prevent a problem. I have read many threads and tips, but has anyone taken pics of the fuel tank area connection? as to where the original lines are cut or the top of the tank? and then the engine area as to what that side will hook up to? maybe I'm just tring to think to hard, but pics are nice. I've had the lines and clamps for over a year now. Thanks, ken

i dont have any pics but ill see if i can offer advice, i just replaced mine 2 weeks go.

the easy ones. at the tank: they are a snap type fitting, i believe the 2 pring type, they show them in the service manual. i couldnt get the prongs off, so i used a hacksaw blade and cut them. from what mine looked like, they went to a plastic line, then to a steel line somewhere in the frame rail where you cant see. either way, i cut them off, and when i ran the new rubber, i made sure to get past the grommet the snap fitting works with, then clamped on both sides.

the tough ones at the pump: i would suggest unplugging the electrical connections on the firewall to get more hand access. a phillips screw driver is all that is needed to remove the factory clamp. once i got it off the hard line i pulled it out of the way and cut it off to make sure i wouldnd accidentaly hook the old one back up. the return line was tougher to get at, but after knowing the clamp type it went faster. getting the rubber line to slip onto the return hard line was tougher because there is no leverage room.

all in all, its just some hose with 4 clamps. just tight spaces to work in.
One other thing, i suggest rubber gloves. if your truck is anything like mine, when your done you will look like a coal miner.
