Can someone explain the term ( fuel filter cracking)? Thanks

 

That's when the filter cracks and leaks from too much pressure.
The lift pump on a 12 valve is capable of putting out over 100psi if the return fuel has no where to go like when a line is kinked or the overflow valve is stuck shut.
