Question Front Shock Replacement question?

Hi All,

I am wanting to change the front shocks as I think they are original. Anyone know the size of the inner nut? Gonna need a 6" extension it seem to hold the nut and then "try" to undo the Bolt from the front. Any tips from anyone if they have done the job themselves much appreciated.

There shoudl be a tab welded to the inner nut that will hold it. This is factory so you should have it.

I will try the easier to reach front Bolt. Probably need a breaker bar of some sort.
Thanks again

A breaker bar for the lower. If you are 4WD, I just use a nut splitter on the top of the shock and break the nut off the stud on the shock. Much easier than trying to work it off.

Yes 4wd and I was thinking I would torch the upper off but worried about the wiring possibly getting in the way. Tried to remove the nut already it spins around with the shock and has a very small area to try and hold it too.
I broke the 22 mm 1/2" socket on the lower as well. Got a new one though as lifetime warr. so kinda ok. Still they are on there and will try the torch on the lowers for sure.
Thanks for the reply.

Get some good penetrating oil on those connections. It may help. I think the lower shock bolts have Loctite on them from factory.
