Question Front D60 LOCKER

Kind of curious what kind of $$$ I'm looking at for a front locker for my truck.. may put on in this winter for the truck pulls come spring.

It has to be selectable.. thats my main requirement.

Both tires seem to lock up in back, so I don't think I need a rear locker.

Thanks!

There's only a few choices I know of, ARB($800), detroit electroloc or something?($$$), and an ox loc something? all a lot of money.

Honestly, it really isn't a good idea to put a locker in the front of your CTD for using at truck pulls.......the D60 in these trucks is as weak as they come.....it is the only D60 front end with 1.31" 30 spline shafts - all other D60 fronts use a 1.50" 35 spline shaft which significantly stronger. Not to mention the stub shafts are also very small. If you are serious about a front locker for pulling with a bombed CTD, consider a 35 spline axle shaft upgrade like the kit from Dynatrac. It converts the front to a full-floating set up with servicable wheel bearings, 35 spline inner and outer shafts and locking hubs and/or drive flanges.......or if you have some fab skills, consider swapping in a Ford D60.....

CTD Nut, thanks for the info
I don't want to throw money at things that won't help me..

Question for you: if I switch to a crossover steering setup, will I have to redo my whole steering again if I get the Dynatrac setup?

WOAH just looked at Dynatrac.. MUCHO DINERO!

Thanks!

I think the Dynatrac kit comes with a new tie rod any you reuse the existing drag link - not certain......the Dynatrac kit does use a Ford style knuckle and will require a different length tie rod so if you are after an aftermarket cross over steering kit, you would be better off to wait until you have decided what to do about your front end.

Yeah, no kidding on the cost of the Dynatrac kit!! You are much better off cost-wise to swap the Ford D60 in place if you can do it.....The kit uses many Ford parts anyway......the only advantages of the kit are stronger alloy custom inner and outer axle shafts and 35 spline outers - as compared to the 30 spline outers on the stock ord D60.

I swapped a 95 ford D60 in my truck, it works great, all I need is some good U joints and 35 spline outers, and a selectable locker
