front axle nut

Someone please state the size of the big front axle nut on a 4X4 2500! I can't measure it accurately because there's no way to get a caliper in. I'm going to have to buy a socket (or box end wrench), so I have to know the size.
I did a search of the forum and the only thing I found was somebody guessing 1-1/6," which is wrong. It looks like a bit less than 1-3/4", or maybe between 40 and 45 mm if it's metric.
Also the hub-to-knuckle bolts.

What year truck do you have? I know that my 94 has a 45mm axle nut, and the hub to knuckle bolts are 9/16ths, 12 point.

Thanks, I really should have said the year. It's a 94. Thanks for the info.
I'm in Burlington, VT. We have Wal-Mart, Home Depot. Lowes, Autozone. Searching all those websites, I don't find any 45mm sockets... I stopped in at Carquest and they didn't have anything that big. Charlebois truck supply didn't have anything that small. So I'm open to suggestions.

It's not 45mm. It's 1-11/16"

On my truck, 1 11/16 was a little loose, and 45 mm was perfect... go figure...

Sorry- I have a bad memory. I went out and pulled a cap off, and checked. I have a 43 mm socket, which fits perfect.

Anyway, the axle nut came off without any trouble. Not so with the hub-to-knuckle nuts. I slid a two foot pipe on the 3/8" breaker bar and applied as much force as I dared, and the bolt wouldn't move. I am afraid the bolts heads are going to snap off. Should I just go ahead and monkey it? But if the bolt heads break off, getting the hub off is going to be the devil's own job.
I was on the craigslist auto forum and got this advice:
"another old trick is apply heat to the bearing side of the bolt the light a candle and let the wax drip on the exposed threads of the bolt capillary action will actually let the wax work in between the threads and you should be able to loosen the bolts"
Is there any way to get to the other end of the bolts? I had the wheel off and tried to remove the outside plate, the one the studs protrude through, and couldn't get it off. Is there any way to get it off, or take the whole rotor off?
