Fault Codes
Fault Codes
I'm getting a code 24 and a code 37. The 24 code I know is the TPS (I know it's bad) but the other code I'm a little confused about. According to my Haynes manual it could either be "Torque Converter Clutch solenoid circuit open or shorted" or " Transmission temperature sensor voltage above or below acceptable voltage values". Both conditions are supposed to light up the check engine light - which it doesn't.
About 3 weeks ago I changed the tranny filter and installed a lockup switch on the dash, and the switch works fine - keeps the torque converter locked up while I'm cruising on the interstate. It shifts okay, after the last shift it goes into overdrive and then lockup (it would go in & out of lockup around 60-70mph). So I guess my question is, did I damage something by installing this LU switch? The temp sensor I think I can reach to replace if needed, but where's the TCC solenoid - do you have to drop the valve body to change it?
Thanks!

I've had a LU switch for about ten years, never threw a code.
Maybe your problem is what it says it is?
Disconnect the batteries for 15 minutes, reconnect then go for a drive.
Check to see if the codes come back.
