Engine Removal, what needs to be done?

Like the title says, what needs to be done to get the engine out of a 95?
And anything special that needs to happen too.
I've never done one and a friend of mine is about to so he needs to know.

Thanks in advance.

It's pretty much straight forward, just make sure everything is disconnected thats attatched to the truck, remove as much in the front as possible (radiator etc) and chain it up and lift it out.

Double check the rating on your hoist, the engine is 1000# + .

Make sure you unplug and/or remove the temp sensor behind the fuel filter. If you break it its $55 dollars from the aftermarket. Don't ask me how I know this.

Well it has been put across as a bit simple. If it is 4wd it is a bit more complicated possibly the two wheel also. Take the valve cover off, remove the two valve adjusters and pushrods from the back of the engine. unbolt the mounts and raise the engine. Now remove the oil pan. When raised it will clear the pickup tube and slide out to the back. Now remove the pickup tube. Remove the air conditioning compressor. pull the radiator and intercooler. unbolt and remove the engine.

You will find that when removing or installing the engine if the air compressor is left on it is almost impossible to get the trans lined up.

It wasn't easy and if it has to be done again I will put it back in with the head off, But I hope I never have to pull the motor again.
