Depends on weather and terrain, as well as the turbo you're running. I'll run anywhere from 600-1000 at that speed.

guys ,I want to install a pyro in my 95 12v and I see some put it in the exhaust man before the turbo.I think if the pyro tip was to break would that ruin the turbo? just where is the best place to put the pyro? I will have it installed as soon as you all give me the info on the best placement. Thanks Don T

Probe tip breakage is a thing of the past, modern materials changed that.
Put your probe in the manifold for the best numbers.

Thanks, Can I just drill out the man with the diesel running or should I remove the turbo? I don`t want to damage anything ! Thanks again

i did mine with a sharp bit and a shop vac. never had a problem. but i made sure to suck out as many filings as i could after i tapped it too. made a makeshift neck for the end of the hose to hook up a small piece of clear hose to fit in the hole

best way I have found to drill and tap the exhaust man. is unbolt the turbo from the ex. man. drill and tap, then start the engine for a second then shut it off. This will blow out any shavings that may have other wise gone through the turbo.
Also wouldnt be a bad idea to combine this with the shop vac idea.

I've installed dozens of probes in the manifold and do absolutely nothing special, just drill and tap with everything together, engine off.
I don't understand the paranoia about chips, they blow out the exhaust pipe the first time the engine is started.
You would think the way people get so **** about chips that they were tapping into the clean air intake to the engine.

Thanks for that info. I thought there was nothing there I could hurt in drilling the manifold. I`am waiting for MBRP to get my Cool duals here so I can install them and will install the pro then . Thanks a bunch

Glad you said this. With the amount of clearance between blades, and the air speed at idle, chips won't hurt anything. I'd still avoid getting them in there, but not be ridiculous. Especially when it gets to the point of removing the turbo to drill and then starting it with it off. Make a 5 minute job into a 2 hour job.
